About the data
Public swimming beaches on Minnesota lakes, rivers and Lake Superior: which lake, who runs it, lifeguards, restrooms, and the latest E. coli result or closure where the county, park board or state posts one. Beach locations come from OpenStreetMap volunteers; water results and closures come from Hennepin County, the Minneapolis Park Board, Three Rivers Park District and the Minnesota Beaches monitoring program, each shown with its date.
Sabi Beaches is built from public sources, gathered automatically and refreshed weekly. When a source changes a record, the change shows up here on the next refresh and is logged on the what changed page.
No business pays to be listed or to be ranked higher, and nothing is written in by hand. Where a source is a regulator, what it says is shown as it said it. Where the source is community data or the business's own website, the listing says so.
Beach water can change within a day of heavy rain. A result here is only as current as the date shown next to it, and outside Memorial Day to Labor Day most beaches are not tested at all. No result listed does not mean the water is safe. Look for posted signs at the beach, and check the agency’s own page before you swim.
